‘I owe everything to television’

Megha Shenoy, Feb 10, 2012 :

COOL KULRAJ

Coming to Bangalore after a long time, actress Kulraj Randhawa reminisces her college days as she studied here in the City. The “good old memories” are something that, she says, she will never forget.

Glamourous : KulrajBut ever since she graduated from here, the actress gained success in television through Kareena Kareena and forayed into movies giving impressive performances in Chintuji and Yamla Pagla Deewana. Happy and satisfied with where she is right now, Kulraj tells Metrolife that she never entered movies looking for glamour or money. In fact it was a sense of curiosity about the medium that made her take the call.

“The beauty of movies is that once you get into them fully, they give you a certain kick especially when you face the challenges a character puts you through,” says Kulraj, who was in the City for the ‘Bangalore Fashion Week’. With everyone wanting to know about the actress’ next film, Kulraj reveals that she will soon be seen in a romantic comedy called Char Din Ki Chandni with Tusshar Kapoor.

“The story revolves around two lovers who spend four days with the boy’s family to try and convince each other’s family about their relationship,” she explains.

Speaking about Tusshar, the actress says that she had “crazy fun” working with him. “You generally think that star kids have an attitude. But Tusshar is such a down-to-earth person and the entire crew was always high on energy during the entire shoot which made shooting even more enjoyable,” she says.

Having done many romantic comedies, Kulraj is now looking forward to do films of other genres as well.

“There are many offers coming in but since people have seen me in ‘rom-coms’, I want to challenge the actress in me and try out other genres as well,” she adds.

Ask her if she ever plans to make a comeback to television and she says, “I owe everything to television so if I get a good role why  not? I have always been open to trying out different mediums so only time will tell where I will go next.”
