I wonder why Savadi, Patil named me: Palemar
“I fail to understand why Savadi and Patil mentioned my name. Anyhow, they are my good friends. If some MMS has come to my cellphone, how can I be blamed?”
This was the argument put forth by Krishna Palemar, who was forced to resign after the porngate. When contacted by Deccan Herald, Palemar said the MMS had come to his phone on February 7, the day Savadi and Patil were caught watching the clippings. “This only shows that I had not watched it. Anybody could have sent the message. I wasn’t aware till it became an issue. Anyhow, it was an achanak incident.”
Asked what his family members, especially his wife, had to say about the incident, the 57-year-old legislator, said: “They are not bothered because they know what sort of person I am. I have done nothing wrong. My constituency people also know it,” he said.
Palemar, whose family resides in Mangalore, enjoys the support of Prabhakar Bhat, the RSS leader. The former minister is into real estate business and has two sons.
When questioned if he will be able to get a ticket from the BJP to contest in the next Assembly polls, he said: “I am not sure of contesting again. It all depends on what the party decides.” He said he was ready to quit as MLA if the House Committee finds him guilty.
CM criticises CongChief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda lashed out at the Congress by saying that it lacks morality to attack the BJP.
“I can list at least 25 scams to expose the Congress. But I decline to do that,” the chief minister said.
