BJP wants probe into BSP recruitments

Lucknow, Feb 9, 2012, (PTI):

Alleging large-scale anomalies, the BJP on Thursday demanded a high-level probe into all recruitments done during the five-year-regime of the BSP government.

“The manner in which director of secondary education was arrested and in which irregularities have come to fore in teachers eligibility test, raises questions over recruitments done in the Bahujan Samaj Party regime,”  Bhartiya Janata Party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told reporters here.

“After irregularities have been detected in the test, a high-level inquiry would be done in this and all other recruitments done during the BSP regime,” he added. Pathak alleged that the manner in which a top official himself was involved in the racket raised questions over sanctity of the entire TET examination.

He alleged that prior to this questions were raised over recruitment of sanitation workers across the state.“Only a high-level inquiry by an independent agency, like CBI, will be able expose the racket and when BJP comes to power, a thorough probe would be ordered,” the party spokesman said.

Director arrestedUttar Pradesh Secondary Education Director Sanjay Mohan was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly taking money from candidates, who appeared for teachers eligibility test held last November. He was allegedly involved in the racket which used to charge between Rs two lakh and Rs five lakh from candidates to get their names included in the merit list, the police said.

The state government had conducted the TET examination on November 13 last year, in which over 11.53 lakh candidates took part and its result was declared on November 26. Some candidates also filed petitions in the Allahabad High Court relating to some questions in the TET paper.
