Mayur Vihar shootout victim dies
Shibu was shot outside Mayur Vihar-I metro station on Saturday evening by an unknown person.
He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night. Police, meanwhile, had recorded statement of the victim.
“We have recorded the statement of the victim. He mentioned that he was called by Deepak to Mayur Vihar on Saturday, based on which we are looking for the Deepak’s involvement in the case,” said deputy commissioner of police (east) Prabhakar.
Extra-marital affair
Shibu in his statement told police that Deepak had an illicit affair with his wife and he had called him to Mayur Vihar to settle the issue. Deepak, who is much younger in age to Shibu’s wife, has allegedly run away with her after the incident.
Police are also looking for accused and his accomplice involved in the case. Police said Deepak stayed in Shibu’s neighborhood in Trilokpuri area. This is where Shibu’s wife and Deepak came in contact.
Deepak convinced Shibu’s wife to marry him and the duo had been living together since last six months.
