Corporate governance for domestic savings: Moily

Bangalore, Feb 10, 2012, dhns:

The Confedertion of Indian Industries (CII), on Friday, organised the India Corporate and Investor Meet with the theme “Corporate Growth, Governance & Inclusion”, under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs was addressed by Union Minister for Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily.

Delivering the Inaugural Address, Moily said, “Inclusiveness does not conflict with growth, in fact, it contributes to growth.” Emphasising, the importance of good corporate governance, the minister said that good governance would help channelise greater investments into the capital market.

The minister further added that “Green growth” principles should be applied not only to the business but also to politicians to sustain long term value-creation.

Moily also released an Investors’ Guide and a Primer for Investors with the objective of encouraging, both beginners and existing investors, to make informed investment decisions.
