HC rejects minor's plea to live with her lover

New Delhi, Feb 10, 2012, (PTI):

A love story of two school-going minors did not get the legal sanction as the Delhi High Court shot down the plea of the girl to live with her juvenile lover.

The cout gave the custody of the girl to her parents on Friday. Justice Mukta Gupta, after an in-camera hearing, dismissed the plea of the girl that she wanted to live with the boy as she was being "tortured" by the parents after being suspended from the school in November last year.

The girl, a class-IX student of private school, Paschim Vihar, had moved the court to seek its approval to stay with her boy friend, a class-XI student from the same institution.
The boy's parents, present in the court, expressed their desire to take the custody of the girl. The plea was also shot down by Justice Gupta.
The court handed over the girl's custody to her parents and directed them not to ill-treat her considering her forthcoming annual examination in March this year. It then fixed the case for further hearing on March 29.
