115 workers get flats
Forty-year-old Rinku and her husband Manoj K Mandal is a happy couple. After years of hard work, their dream of owning a house in the national Capital materialised on Friday.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit handed over the allotment letter of a flat to the couple at a function organised in Delhi Secretariat. Manoj is one of the 115 lucky people who have been allotted flat under Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme for industrial workers.
After a draw of lots conducted in a phased manner, the Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation identified 2,229 eligible industrial workers. The houses located in Bawana and Narela areas would cost around Rs1.62 lakh to the industrial workers.
