Air defence missile tested successfully
India on Friday successfully carried out the test launching of indigenously developed air defence missile, the AAD(Advance Air Defence) 5.
The missile hit an incoming ballistic missile and completely destroyed it at a height of 15 km over Bay of Bengal, near the Wheelers Island missile testing centre located off the coast of Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
Highly placed DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) sources said a modified Prithvi missile mimicking as the ballistic missile was launched at 10:10 hours from the Interim Test Range (ITR) located at Chandipur in Balasore district.
