Poll candidate in UP goes on bier to file papers
A poll candidate caught eyeballs on Saturday as he reached the collectorate here on a bier to file his papers.
Curious onlookers gathered round the bier as Pol Khol Party chief and nominee Naresh Singh Bhadauria reached the collectorate carried on the stand by four persons.
Bhadauria, who is known among locals for his unique style of electioneering, said adopting the novel method to file his nomination was his way to send a message to the old guard occupying political space to step aside and let the younger generation take over.
Bhadauria, who has entered the poll fray from the Gola seat, has contested elections against prominent national leaders, including former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, and Narendra Modi.
