Aspera takes up awareness campaign
E-week 2012
“Farmers are ideal entrepreneurs since they are the backbone of our population — providing the basic source of our livelihood ie food,” said V Prakash, distinguished scientist of CSIR and ex-director of CFTRI.
He was delivering his inaugural speech at the launch of E-week 2012 organised by Aspera, the NEN E-Cell of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, here on Saturday. There was an interactive session between E-members and Prakash in which patent problems and entrepreneurial future of farmers were discussed.

E-Week pledge was taken by all E-members and dignitaries present on the occasion. The dignitaries and E-members signed on a signature board which had the message ‘Say no to Corruption’.
E-members joined hands to make this world hungry-free through meals donation.
Around 120 meals were distributed among the poor at Vijayanagar (near water tank) and Gokulam(slum). Principal B Sadashive Gowda and head of electronics and communication department L Basavaraj were present.
They distributed clothes to old people at Little Sisters of the Poor and spent some time with them. Aditi Dinakar conducted a workshop in photography for E-members.
They held a door to door awareness campaign about conserving water at various colleges, hotels and other places near the college. An awareness campaign on ‘how corruption is ruining the society’ was also held in various colleges and hotels.
Extempore for e-leaders was conducted with an objective to improve communication skills of E-leaders. A general topic was given and analysis was done based on the skills to talk and the way of thinking.
Under the enlightenment drive various groups were sent to places near the college to sell CFLs. Selling and business skills among e-members were analysed and the importance of using CFLs was highlighted among the public.
