Bangalore, February 15 2012, DHNS:

A 31-year-old home-alone woman was found murdered at her house in Sanjeevininagar on Wednesday.

Vijayanagar police said Suvarna’s throat was slit and her earrings missing. It could be a murder, they added.

Suvarna, a resident of 4th Cross Sanjeevininagar, Moodalapalya, was a native of S Rayapura in Anantpur district, Andhra Pradesh. She was married to Nagaraj who hailed from Thayigondanahalli in Madhugiri taluk, Tumkur district.

Suvarna was alone at her house and was preparing to leave for Chandra Layout to bring her daughter, Navyashree, 9, back home from a school for mentally challenged children.

Neighbours who heard Suvarna crying for help came out of their houses, and noticed a man running out of the house. They rushed in and saw Suvarna gasping for breath, profusely bleeding and writhing in pain. She died minutes later, they told the police. Nagaraj was at Victoria Hospital at the time of the incident.
