Le Corbusier- designed Chandigarh on Wednesday masqueraded as Abbottabad in Pakistan as Hollywood film maker Kathryn Bigelow’s unit captured a reel sequence on the killing of the world’s most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden for its upcoming film.

Hollywood celebrity Brad Pitt is the lead actor in the film that will depict Osama’s hideout and the sequence eventually leading to the US marines’ secret operation to gun down Laden.

The city’s Sector 15 was the setting for the shooting of the film, even as Pitt remained elusive. The police had made elaborate arrangements to prevent any disruption.

The film will also be shot in other locations in Punjab, including Patiala. Chandigarh’s posh Sector 15, was dressed up to ‘replicate’ Abbottabad in Pakistan. Bigelow’s unit will shoot in and around Chandigarh for the next few days. In 2010, Bigelow won an Oscar for Best Director for her movie ‘Hurt Locker.’
