Modern homes are becoming increasingly trendier in appearance with a stress on elements of nature. Modern homes are more than just living areas. Apart from comfort, aesthetics also play a major role.

To achieve such an atmosphere, every corner of the house, from the living room to the kitchen or dining room needs to be planned immaculately. Even the bathroom or the cloak room has seen a lot of changes from the times gone by.

Eco-friendly designs and products are much sought after for contemporary homes as they lend both a modern and classic touch. High-end luxury bathrooms also see a lot of green products in contemporary times.

The bathroom is considered a glamour room in modern times. From making the right choice of colour which can give a pleasant appearance, the use of wall tiles, accessories like bath tub, water closet, wash basin and trendy shower sprays – each item comes with varied designs and gives a trendy and comfortable look to the place.

Normally, soft and natural shades like cream, white, beige and sea blue look the best. In the same way, natural lighting is another aspect which cannot be forgotten. This should be an essential part of designing a bathroom.

Apart from lending a bright look, the bathroom plays an important role in reducing the carbon footprint. Natural sunlight available all through the day must be utilised to the best of our advantage. This does not mean that the privacy of the area is spared.

A good design without compromising on one’s privacy and other aspects such as natural light is the best way forward. This also includes proper ventilation and usage of LED lighting which would enable use of less power and enhances the ambience of the bathroom.Long lasting ceramic finish tiles with stain print or matt are easily maintainable and are the best for the bathroom. Mosaic/ceramic tiles with fine texture and finish can enhance the look of any space. Water closets, bathtub and basins of different designs are available in the market which are easy to install and also to change whenever required. A free-standing bathtub is order of the day. Even a mirror ideally placed can enhance the ambience of the bathroom. Interiors with classic design elements offer a luxurious experience. Nowadays, the trend is towards making the bathroom a personal space with distinct features like a jacuzzi or a spa. Materials like ceramic, glass with gold and silver coating are increasingly making their way into homes making it richer.
