Commissioning of the nuclear power plant was a must in the context of the present power crisis.

The governments should take immediate steps to break the deadlock by initiating action against the agitators, state BJP unit president, Pon Radhakrishnan told reporters here.

Radhakrishnan, who flagged off a one-month long padayatra to Chennai organised by Swadeshi Jagaran Manch said the padayatra would cover Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Tiruchirapalli, Kancheepuram and reach Chennai on April five.

The yatra was aimed at creating awareness on the issues like opposing FDI In retail sector, need for bringing black money stashed in foreign banks and also protect traditional agriculture in the country, he said.

Despite all natural and other resources available in India, the Government was totally favouring and depending on FDI in all the sector, which would work against the interests of be it farmers, retailers, particularly small shop owners, Radhakrishnan said.
