Six days after Vivek Singh, 32, son of BSP leader Chandraveer Singh, assaulted a Russian woman at her house, police have arrested him from Sarvodaya Enclave in south Delhi on Monday.

Architect Tatiana Butyaeva, 24, who worked with a multi-national company based in Gurgaon, was assaulted and robbed by Singh in Mehrauli on February 29.

She told police that she came to Delhi on February 29 morning from Moscow and went to her house at Freedom Fighter Colony in Mehrauli, where she lives with three friends.

She had gone to Russia after taking leave from work, and she was supposed to join on March 1.

Singh came to her house and threatened her at gunpoint. She managed to lock herself in the bathroom.

She told police that when she came out, she found that Singh had taken away her cellphone, passport and debit card.

She filed a complaint with the police immediately. A day later, she told police that she had been getting threats from Singh, following which she also approached the Russian embassy.

Butyaeva, who came to India in January 2011 for a year-long internship in Architecture, met Vivek in April last year.

Police said Singh was earlier arrested for firing a gun at Mocha Bar in south Delhi.
