Did you ever think there is an art hidden in eating?

US national Dale Boone not only preaches, but also practises the art of professional eating.
He has earned a place in the Guinness Books of World Records and Limca Book of Records.

A gigantic Dale is in Bangalore to show his dietary prowess at an ice cream parlour on Church Street behind MG Road, where the World Ice Cream Eating Championship will be held on April 1.

Dale, who has established World League of Competitive Eating, said there will be four teams in the competition, each comprising four members, on the one side and Dale alone on the other.

So far only two teams have been formed, while two more are yet to be constituted. Dale is on the hunt for professional eaters. Those willing to compete can contact the ice cream parlour.

Quite frequent to India, particularly Bangalore, Dale - at a ‘pani puri’ eating competition at Jayanagar - had finished 44 ‘pani puris’ in just two minutes. Last year, he had gulped 3.3 kg of chicken in a very short time at a City hotel.

Dale has high hopes from two Bangalore students. “Akash Ravi and Abhishek M B have great potential,” says Dale.

Ask him which is his favourite food and without giving a second thought, he says, “Litchi and Indian meat.”
