The boy-next-door of Indian television Hussain Kuwajerwala is one of the most popular TV stars better known as Kumkum’s hubby Sumit in the serial of the same name.

He is not only an actor but also an excellent anchor with shows such as Khulja Sim Sim to his credit. “My career so far has been very satisfying. I got a lot more than what I expected. But you know how it is, yeh dil maange more!! Satisfaction could be an end to your hunger.”

Hussain is rather pleased with the way his daily show Zangoora – The Gypsy Prince at Gurgaon's Kingdom of Dreams has shaped up. “My association with Zangoora started in 2010 and after 600 shows I can proudly say that my experience has been full of unforgettable memories that I will cherish all my life. Playing the lead in Zangoora which has all the essential elements of Bollywood - romance, emotion, drama, magic, action, dance and dollops of colour, takes a lot of practice and discipline.” He also added that he exercises rigorously to remain fit for the show.

“Ever since I have joined the team of Zangoora, I’ve become much more health conscious and I work out rigorously to do the aerial stunts and be fit to match the energy levels required for the show.”The actor also confessed that his fondness for theatre increased after being associated with the show. “The respect has increased by manifold. After working in Zangoora, I realise that theatre is a very difficult medium. It makes you alert - that is the fun part of theatre. It is very challenging too, but I love its discipline.”

While theatre will always remain close to any true blue performer, it is the television which is grabbing more and more eyeballs by the day. “Television is just getting bigger by the day and I think it is the best form of entertainment, especially when it comes to audience's convenience.” And Hussain is expectedly happy with the role of Sumit Wadhwa, that made him a household name: “I had never put much thought into being an actor. Acting just happened.”A combination of talent and versatility, Hussain is very popular with the fairer sex. “I really don’t know how to handle the attention. You just feel like you are lucky. This is one of the blessings that comes from being an actor,” he smiles.

His heart of course, lies with wife, Tina. “My life after marriage has become a lot better, simpler and happier.” While love brings security and ought to make one fearless, ironically enough it is this happiness and joy which has led to Hussain’s biggest fear, “The thought of losing my loved ones. The lowest point in my life was when I lost my father and I don’t want to lose anybody close to me.”
