Dhanalakshmi Bank launches Internet banking

Mumbai, Sep 7 (PTI):

Dhanalakshmi bank on Monday launched on-line Internet banking services for its customers in order to increase its foot-print across the country.

"The bank is leveraging technology to spread its foot- print across the country.
Adding to its bouquet of products and services, Dhanalakshmi bank is committed to provide ease and convenience for the growing community of its customers," a release issued here said.

The bank's Head - Alternate Channels, Anand Gupta, said, "Development of our on-line Internet banking has been one of our top priorities to fulfill our aggressive growth strategy. We are investing in the development of innovative solutions to ensure the bank provides convenience, ease of use, multiple features and security for our online customers."

Internet banking facilities will be free of charge and will meet banking needs like checking balances, generating account statements, funds transfer to any bank and register request for fixed deposits, the release said.

Customers will also be able to view details of loans and generate statements, enquiry about cheque-status and issue instructions to stop cheque payments.

To enhance the security aspect, a two-step authentication process has been put in place. The customers are provided with a unique ID and two separate passwords--one for logging into the account and another to enable transactions.

The Kerala based bank further plans to boost its technology platform in the near future and will offer services like on-line shopping, utility bill payments, booking railway and air tickets, repaying loan EMIs and paying credit card bills, among others.

The bank has recently received approval from the Reserve Bank of India to open 66 branches and 380 ATMs across the country during 2009. This will increase the number of customer outlets from 279 to 725 helping it attain a national stature.
