Top action in prospect
The opening round of the inaugural edition of the FMSCI Indian National Autocross Championship will be held here at the Palace grounds on April 28 and 29.
The championship, to be promoted by Wynnsport, will witness over 100 drivers. “Top drivers and teams have shown interest in the event and the starting grid looks very good. The Karnataka Motor Sport Club will be helping us organise the event in Bangalore.
“We have, with the support of the FMSCI, kept up our promise of announcing the classes by the first week of April,” Balakrishna Jayasimha, Wynnsport Chief Executive, said at a press conference here on Monday.
The event will be run under the aegis of the FIA and is subject to regulations laid down by the FIA. These include the FIA International Sporting Code, the FIA General Prescriptions (Rally) and the FMSCI Autocross Championship Regulations that will be specific to the INAC.
Two trauma care ambulances, a fire engine and tow vehicles will be present at the venue.
Classes: Upto 850cc, Over 850cc-upto 1150cc, Over 1150cc-upto 1400cc, Over 1400cc-upto 1600cc, Upto 3000cc, 4x4 Gypsy (upto 1400cc), Upto 1400 cc (Ladies open).
Calender: April 28-29: Bangalore; May 26-27: Cochin; July 14-15: Coimbatore; September 15-16: Chennai; November 3-4: Mumbai; December 8-9: Bangalore.
