Traffic woes in Brahmavar

The traffic jams are a common scene at Akashavani Circle, Old Bus stand and at fish market area in Brahmavar. 

With the sub-registrar office, sub tresury office, Special Tahsildar’s office situated in the heart of the city, the number of vehicles are on the rise. At the same time, the work on four-laning of the road is also creating traffic snarls. 

The work on four-laning of the road from Brahmavar bus stand to Akashavani Circle is being carried out for the last several months, creating traffic jams in Akashavani Circle and Old Bus stand. 

All the buses bound to Barkur ply via Akashavani Circle. With the four-laning of the road, the road has been converted into one-way traffic. As most of the vehicles from Barkur move via congested Kelapete, the density of traffic is more. 

Those who visit the office of Special Tahsildar, revenue department, sub registrar office, park their vehicle beside the road itself. The density of vehicle is more near fish market in the evening, causing severe inconvenience to the pedestrians. 

Owing to lack of space, the parking area for autorickshaws and cars keep changing daily.

The two-wheelers park their vehicle in Brahmavar and go to Udupi by bus. Now the two-wheelers have started parking their vehicles in Gram Panchayat premises or at fish market. The vehicle users have been urging the authorities to earmark a permanent parking zone in the region.
