<p>Vehicle users will have to bear with the long wait at the Nayandahalli junction on Mysore Road for some more months.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Construction of two major infrastructure projects-- double flyover work by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and a portion of Namma Metro East-West corridor-- are going on for a long time here.<br /><br />Even though the Metro corridor work has not affected the traffic flow much here, BDA’s double flyover work, claimed to be first of its kind in the City to form a signal-free corridor at the junction, has been dragging for three years now. It was supposed to be completed in March this year. <br /><br />Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, who visited the site to check the construction work at Nayandahalli in April, had set April-end deadline to complete at least one ramp of the double flyover. <br /><br />However, when Deccan Herald visited the spot on Thursday, BDA was yet to finish the work on placing viaducts on the pillars for the ramp from Magadi Road towards Banashankari, linking the Outer Ring Road.<br /><br />Speaking to Deccan Herald, a BDA engineer in charge of the work at Nayandahalli said, it would at least take another month for the completion of the ramp from Magadi Road end towards Banashankari road end. <br /><br />He said completion of another ramp at a height of 36 feet on Mysore Road would take two more months. <br /><br />However, commuters who pass through the junction are not in a position to wait for long. <br />Chinmaya K, a regular commuter, said he is fed up with traffic diversions and long wait at the junction. <br /><br />He said it takes at least an hour to traverse the distance of half a kilometre on this stretch.<br /><br />When questioned about the delay, the BDA engineer said the project was delayed for a few months last year due to litigation over land acquisition. He said it took time for the BDA to overcome such problems and restart the work. <br /></p>
