From the high-adrenaline, stress-filled world of investment-banking to the calmness of the inner self and from number-crunching to wooing guardian angels may seem like a big leap. But for clairvoyant, spiritual counsellor and angel-therapist Shivani Sinha Sola, these are not worlds apart and neither does she regard it as a huge transition.

“It is actually a natural progression. Also, spirituality is all about integration,” she says. The spiritual elements were very much part of her life even during her days as student and banker just as handling worldly matters is essential even during her current role as spiritual guide, she explains.

Shivani is founder-head of Devas Unlimited, which offers deva sessions, spiritual detoxification, timeline healing, archangel attunement, house clearing, and creation of crystal grids. She has clients from 22 countries. They include CEOs, filmstars, IT professionals, doctors, TV celebrities, homemakers, lawyers, businesspersons, astrologers, Indian royalty, teachers and students.

The issues with which they come relate to health, relationships, education, finance, children, career-guidance, spiritual growth, etc. She adds modestly: “I am only a facilitator. I am just helping them reach a higher level of consciousness wherein they can contact their guardian angels or devas and derive help and guidance from them.

So, I am like a signboard! I aid my clients in tapping into their own inner fountain of peace and happiness and realise their own divinity. All of us are, at the core, divine.” In fact, she discourages repeat sessions or “dependency”, wanting people to realise their own potential.

Shivani grew up in Hyderabad where she completed her MBA, worked for several leading private banks and had a successful career. She married a cardiologist, Dr Srikanth Sola, and moved with him to the USA when he began working at the famous Cleveland Clinic. She also became a mother and continued her work in investment banking.

Shivani had strong spiritual leanings from childhood. “As a child I could see things beyond the five senses –– nature-spirits, divine beings from other realms, etc. But I didn’t tell anyone because I was afraid no one would believe me and think I was making it up!” she laughs. “I began meditating at age 16 and often communicating with devas. By the time I was in college, my friends and acquaintances used to ask me for guidance. ‘Ask the devas whom you are in touch with and get us some help’, they would say,” she recalls with another laugh.

“Then, and even now, I could see auras,” she adds. I am a little startled, and immediately become self-conscious, wondering what she is seeing around me and what she will pronounce about me. She senses my reaction and smiles: “Nothing to worry! There is nothing judgemental about my work. It comes from a space of love. I am a guide and helper, not a judge!”

In 2008, her husband left Cleveland and USA for Bangalore to work for the charitable hospital with world-class facilities, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences. Shivani followed him and the same year set up Devas Unlimited. Her sister Shaguna Sinha and trained metaphysician Ruth Harris are her associates.

Shivani holds sessions in a room at home which has a crystal-grid –– a geometric pattern with crystals to enhance spiritual energy. “I make the client meditate so he/she raises his/her frequency to a higher level. I tell them what I myself am seeing and what the devas are communicating. And I help them connect with their own devas.” But she does not like the terms medium or healer.

“I am only a channel. I empower my clients to help themselves and transform for the better.” Once clients reach a higher consciousness and connect with their own guardian angels there, they discover their own innate ability to heal themselves, and tap their potential to lead richer, healthier and fuller lives, she says.

Shivani’s work is totally non-denominational and though her own guru is Sathya Sai Baba, she has people from all religions coming in and the devas they connect to could be Buddha, Mahavatar Babaji, Jesus, Hanuman… “Every god and guru is equal in my belief and my work.”

All of us have the potential to rise above our problems and limitations, and lead more fulfilling lives, she believes: “All of us are born with two or more devas who are like our divine buddies –– they will help us with anything and everything. We are just teaching our clients how to call on and benefit from them.”

And yes, she has encountered skeptics but her conviction in her own beliefs is total. It is this strong belief that sustains her work and makes it so fulfilling, she adds.
