City schools excel in CBSE
Several institutions have recorded 100 per cent results
Schools in the City have performed exceptionally well this year in the CBSE Class XII examinations whose results were announced on Monday. Many schools such as the Delhi Public Schools and NPS schools have recorded 100 per cent results.
Manju Sharma, principal of DPS South, said of the 76 students who appeared for the examinations in her school, all secured first class. In DPS North too, all student have secured a first class, with many achieving distinction.
Presidency School, which has students writing the Class XII examinations for the first time, also recorded good results.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, the school principal said the top scorer, Aditya R, had secured 92.20 per cent.
Distinction
Of the 18 students of the school who wrote the examinations, five have scored above 70 per cent and seven distinction.
Students shared their diverse career aspirations with Deccan Herald.
“It feels great to do so well. Since I was preparing for medical exams, I had my basic concepts clear. I spent four to five hours studying every day. AIPMT is one of the exams I have written, but I am waiting for the results before I decide on a college.”

“I finished a lot of my portions during February and March. I was studying for other entrances during this time as well. This helped me in the board exams.
I have written IIT and AIEEE. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a seat in BITS.”

“With my tuitions and college work, the best I could put in was three to fours hours a day. I managed to study extra hours during weekends and holidays. I want to study medicine. I have written the St John’s College entrance, Comed-K, AIPMT and Manipal entrance exams.”

“I had chosen Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics. I always wanted to do something to make a differecne in the lives of the underprivileged, and I believe, economics will help me achieve the goal.
I want to pursue the subject in the London School of Economics and later go for research. Many find it strange that I am not interested in engineering. This has not deterred me from my area of interest.”
Aniket Bhakshi, DPS South, 97.2 per cent
“I never overwhelmed myself with studying for too many hours, yet I did not lose focus. Though I watched television, I cut down on it and I played football regularly. I want to study computer science engineering. Since I have secured 2,579 rank in the IIT-JEE exam, I hope to get a seat in one of the IITs.”

“I went prepared for all assignments and tests. Revisions were helpful. Now, I am going ahead with law at Christ University.
Everyone in my family is from the commerce background. So, I decided to do something different.”

Indiranagar, 97.6 per cent
“I depended mainly on the NCERT textbooks. I did not have fixed hours of study, but I put in a lot of hard work. I will be studying BBM at Christ University. After this, I’m aiming to get into MBA at IIM Ahmedabad.”
