One dead in Toronto mall shooting
A 25-year-old man died and seven others were injured in a shooting spree at a shopping mall here in Canada, media reports said Sunday.
The shooting Saturday at the Toronto Eaton Center, one of largest malls in the city, sent hundreds of weekend shoppers running in fear, Xinhua reported.
A 25-year-old man was fatally shot at the food court, while a 13-year-old boy is in critical condition and a pregnant woman was sent into labour during the chaos.
Police evacuated and shut down the mall for several hours after the shooting. No arrests have been made. Police are looking through video surveillance and interviewing witnesses.
Local media quoted witnesses as saying that they heard a string of shots being fired. One witness said he heard 12 to 15 shots.
