Obama admin is nexus of liberalism and incompetence: Jindal
Indian-American Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a potential Republican vice- presidential candidate, today launched a scathing attack on President Barack Obama, accusing his administration of being a nexus of liberalism and incompetence.
"The Obama admin(istration) is at the nexus of liberalism and incompetence and together that's a deadly combination," Jindal said in his remarks at the Chicago meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Jindal, the first Indian-American to be elected as governor of a US State, called Obama "the most liberal, most incompetent president in the White House since Jimmy Carter," and accused him of staying out of the Wisconsin recall election this week out of cowardice.
"(Obama) ran a clever campaign in 2008 but the reality is he has governed as the most liberal president since Jimmy Carter," he said.
Jindal alleged that the private sector is like a foreign country to Obama.
"I suspect that many in the Obama administration really don't believe in private enterprise. At best they see business as something to be endured so that that it can provide tax money for government programs," he said.
Jindal's scathing attack on Obama immediately fuelled speculation that he is pitching himself for vice presidency ticket, which he immediately refuted.
"I've got the job that I want. I'm not going to speculate on what Gov. Romney is going to do, I'm not going to comment on his process the same way four years ago I didn't comment on any of the speculation back then. All I'm going to say is that I look forward to supporting whoever Gov. Romney selects to be on his ticket," he told reporters after the speech.
Considered as the rising star of the Republican Party, Jindal alleged that Obama's handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill was an example of is "incompetence", and accused him of relying too heavily on bureaucrats in his energy department instead of listening to average Americans on the ground.
"We put a guy in the White House who has no experience running anything," he said.
