Fed up of the increasing hair fall, Prantik Chakraborty took a bold step. He shaved his entire head hoping that it would improve hair growth. “Though shaving it off didn’t help, I found that it suited my face. I started shaving my head around five years ago. Now, it is a part of my style and people say that it suits me,” says Prantik a corporate communications person.<br /><br />For 34-year old Darshan Singh Rautela, an accounts teacher, the reason was not hair fall. He parted with his thick hair just to be carefree. “I first shaved my head when I was around 18. I liked it then and now after around 16 years, I cannot imagine myself with hair on my head! In fact, if I start growing hair now, I would feel really awkward!” <br />Though young women have also started sporting shaved heads, the bald look seems more suited for men – especially those who have a rounded shape rather than an oblong or pointed skull shape. Experts say that strong facial bones help when it comes to carrying off this style. Shaved head makes a person look more masculine and it literally makes him stands out.<br /><br />Some also choose to stay bald during a particular season and get back to their style later. Chetan Sharma, a media professional prefers going bald in summer. “The first time I got it done, people asked me questions like ‘Is everything alright’ (referring to the Hindu tradition of the son shaving off their head on the demise of either a parent/grandparent) but now they are used to seeing me.”<br />For those of you considering the bald look, it may appear a drastic step, but believe you me, those who embrace it will not regret it! <br /></p>
