Special trainers for Saif, John, Jacqueline for 'Race 2'
Producer Ramesh Taurani who is quite excited about his upcoming film 'Race 2' and believes it to be a potential blockbuster, has roped in special trainers from Vietnam to train Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez "for a mind-blowing sequence" in the film.
"We have specially flown down trainers from Vietnam for a an action sequence in the film, which is not less than any Hollywood film. This sequence is formulated by action director Peter Hein. John, Saif and Jacqueline were trained for this mind-blowing sequence," Ramesh Taurani told PTI.
‘Race 2’ is an action thriller directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced under the Tips Music Films banner. It is a sequel to the 2008 hit film, ‘Race’ and boats of an ensemble cast including Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel.
"There are lots of expectations from ‘Race 2’. I am sure it will be a blockbuster. The USP of ‘Race’ was its story and even in the sequel we have given importance to the story. We spent over two years or so, on the script of ‘Race 2’," Taurani said.
"Be it action or any film, the content has to be good. The look, sets, costumes and other things are part of packaging. Any film with a good storyline will do well. In ‘Race 2’ the story is good and the action part comes in proper place," he said.
About the much-hyped cameo appearance of Bipasha Basu in the sequel, Taurani says, "We don’t want to disclose anything right now...let it be a surprise." In the first instalment of the film, Bipasha played the love interest of Saif Ali Khan. But she does not have a full-fledged role in the sequel.
"There will be an item song in the film. Like in the first part, we had leading lady Katrina Kaif doing ‘Touch Me’ song...even in the sequel we will have the heroines – Deepika, Jacqueline doing an item song," he said.
The film is shaping up really well. Presently, the team is shooting in Turkey and it may take another 17 days to complete shooting there. After this, we will have completed 70-80 percent of the film, Taurani said.
