Gold will glitter however the market swings. ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh is determined to return to his golden ways at the box office with his latest film ‘Romeo’.

There’s a lot of noise being made about ‘Romeo’, that’s set to hit the screens around Ganesh’s birthday, which is July 2. The ‘Golden Star’ is pretty thrilled about his character in the movie.

“You will see me as a romeo in it. The character has all the trappings of a romeo — he’s flirtatious — both in his body language and the way he talks. He cons people with his sweet talk and thinks highly of himself. And he creates a false image of himself,” he says.

The talking point of the film is the marketing strategy. One of the songs has him dressed raucously colourful — in a green shirt contrasted with red pants and in a yellow shirt with green pants. “The movie is about a character who is loud in every sense of the term. It’s an out-and-out entertainer and people are sure to love the character,” he explains.

Ganesh says that he relates to his role very well. “I think we’ve all been through this phase in our college days when we’ve done so many things to impress girls and perhaps win their hearts.

We have lied about our background just to gain some recognition and acceptance. These are small lies, but there’s fun in it. The character in this movie is glorified in a certain sense. He doesn’t talk small, only in crores although he has an empty pocket,” he says and adds, “he’s a bluff master and an unbeatable one at that.”

Ganesh has his hands full with Sakare, which he says is an experimental film. “It’s about a man who mends broken hearts. He brings the broken hearts together. Whether he finds love is the twist in the tale,” he says.

And in ‘Mr 420’, Ganesh plays a conman. “It’s about the things he does to make money. It begins with pick-pocketing and moves on to bigger things,” he explains. Ask Ganesh if his romantic tag is getting a wee bit monotonous and he says, “the script must excite me and if people like me as a romantic, which I am on and off screen, then why not give them what they want?”
