Minors raped in Rajasthan
A 16-year-old girl has filed a complaint with police that she was abducted, confined to a car and gang raped for 20 days by five youth in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, police said on Friday.
The girl, a resident of Sikar district, had come to stay with her aunt in Jaipur Rainwal town, from where she was allegedly abducted on June 4. The family members had filed a missing person complaint a day after the girl went missing.
“She said five youth forced her into an SUV while she was on her way to a market. They took her to a forest bordering Ajmer district,” said Rainwal police station in-charge Manendra Singh.
“The girl said she managed to get away on June 24 and subsequently, informed her family members. Then she was taken to her aunt’s house. As she said she was scared, she did not file an FIR immediately,” said Singh.
“She approached police only on Thursday evening.”
On the basis of the girl’s statement, police have filed a case against five youth. “She has identified three of the them, who are from her village in Sikar district. Police are now looking for the rest,” Singh said.
Barmer case
A 28-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a minor girl in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, police said.
The incident took place when the seven-year-old girl was playing outside her house at Sunder Nagar in Chohatan on Thursday. Anil Soni took her to a nearby deserted house on the pretext of buying her a toffee, where he raped the girl and then fled, police added.
She managed to reach her house and told about the incident to her parents, a police official said.
“We got a complaint last night and an FIR was filed. The victim was taken to hospital and a medical test was conducted,” added the official.
