Desai, Khaleel in State panel
Former State cricketers Sanjy M Desai and Fazal Khaleel have been included in the four-member Senior State Selection Committee of which J Abhiram continues to be the Chairman.
Desai and Khaleel come in place of Sujith Somasundar and Avinash Vaidya who have been relieved of their responsibilities as the duo will be busy with other assignments. While Somasundar has taken up the coaching job with the Kerala State squad, Vaidya is getting busier with his work at the UB Group.
PR Ashok Anand is the other member of the committee.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association’s Cricket Committee rejigged junior panels too. In the revamped set-up, R Sudhakar Rao will head the under-22 panel while Vijay Bharadwaj has been appointed the chairman of the under-19 committee.
Ramesh Hejmadi is the chief of under-16 committee. The Cricket Committee has also short-listed eight specialist coaches who will be appointed for four various State teams, including the Ranji side. The selected candidates will be interviewed on July 9.
