Angara next in line to quit?
Speculations were rife on Tuesday that S Angara, a four-time BJP MLA from Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district, would also quit over not getting a berth in the Cabinet.
When contacted by Deccan Herald, the MLA said he was a disciplined worker of the party and he would not take any decision that went against the party rules.
“As many as six BJP members of the Sullia ZP in my constituency have resigned as they are hurt that I have been ignored by the party. It is up to the district leaders to talk to them and pacify them.”
BJP MLA Gopalakrishna Belur, who is cut up with his mentor Yeddyurappa for not backing him for a ministerial post, met Speaker Bopaiah on Tuesday.
He told reporters he had met the Speaker for official work.
He said he had met JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Monday, but had no plans to quit the BJP.
The legislature session will commence on July 19 to pass consequential finance bills related to the budget proposals for 2012-13.
