Narasimharaju’s birth anniversary was recently celebrated by his family and friends

It was time for a walk down memory lane during the 89th birth anniversary celebrations of Kannada’s Haasya Chakravarti, T R Narasimharaju, which was held recently at the Puttanna Chetty Town Hall.

The programme began with the family, close friends and colleagues of Narasimharaju sharing their memorable experiences of the well-known comedian.

He was remembered dearly by renowned actor and producer Dwarakish, music director Hamsalekha, veteran director Bhagavan, writer K Puttaswamy, popular theatre director, C Basavalingiah and his wife Sharadamma Narasimharaju.

They enthralled the audience by introducing a nostalgic vibe to the occasion.
“Narasimharaju is the greatest comedian of all time.

He was the real superstar of the 60s and people used to prefer watching Kannada movies only if he starred in them. During those days, directors used to book his dates first and then ask for his suggestions before they decided on the rest
of the cast,” recalled Dwarakish, who considers himself lucky to have worked
with a legendary actor like him.

Narasimharaju’s family conducted an essay-writing competition based on topics related to the actor and his work.

After having received an overwhelming response from people across the globe, Narasimharaju’s family awarded the best with prizes.

Narasimharaju’s grandchildren, S D Aravind and S D Avinash, have started a new production house called ‘Goals and Dreamz’ and the first movie to be produced under this banner is ‘Eveready Boyz’.

The film will be directed by S D Aravind, while Hamsalekha will take charge of music. The muhurtham for ‘Eveready Boyz’ was held on this auspicious occasion.

The film revolves around four characters and touches upon aspects like the
media, real estate, professional stress and politics through satire.
The storyline of the movie shows the youngsters struggling for fame and success, despite their complicated lifestyle in the typical modern day.

S D Avinash, who has made his mark in the movie Jugaari, will play the lead while the other actors include Praveen of Kabaddi fame, popular radio jockey Pradeepa and reality show winner, Deepak Shetty.

“The perspective towards cinema has definitely changed in recent times.
The main aim of the movie is to entertain the audience through quality performance,” says Aravind.

Narasimharaju’s family took pleasure in releasing a DVD which is a compilation of some of his work.

Also, a website, www.haasyachakravarthi.com, was launched to share details of Narasimharaju’s life with people around the world.
