Life threat to legislator; one arrested
A person who was not only sending abusive messages on the mobile phone to legislator K S Puttaraju but also threatened to kill him, has been arrested on Tuesday.
The accused is Eeranna, son of Mahadeva of Thirumalasagara Chatra in the taluk. Eeranna had sent a message on July 25 from his relative Parashivamurthy’s mobile. Puttaraju had filed a complaint on July 28. The police arrested the accused and produced him in the court.
Boy killed in mishap
In a headon collision between a tipper lorry and a cycle, a boy was killed on the spot, near Railway station on Tuesday. A girl was carrying five-year old kid Dhanush on her bicycle when the incident occurred. Traffic was disrupted for some time on the road. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to Pandavapura General Hospital mortuary.
