<p>Twenty students of Delhi Public School (DPS) sustained minor injuries when a BMTC bus hit their school bus near NR Circle on Friday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>A few students got into the bus school on Magadi Road and the driver turned the vehicle towards Mission Road, when the BMTC bus proceeding from Hudson Circle hit the school bus from behind. The driver lost control over the vehicle and the bus toppled, said police. <br /><br />The police on the patrol rushed to the accident spot, broke open the door and shifted the students to a hospital in their ambulance. A few students suffered scratches on their noses and hands. The police contacted the parents on the basis of the contact number displayed on the identity cards of the students, said the hospital staff. The DPS management authorities told Deccan Herald that all the children were safe and no serious injuries were reported. <br /><br />“We were in a shock in the morning. The incident occurred at 7.20 am,” said Mansoor Ali, a board member of the DPS.<br /><br />The management authorities were convinced that their driver did not err while driving. There was a speed governor in the bus and hence he could not exceed the speed limit of 40 km per hour, he said. A complaint was lodged against the BMTC bus driver.<br /><br />However, the BMTC officials said both the drivers had committed mistakes. The BMTC bus was on the main road while the DPS bus was crossing towards Mission Road when the accident took place, said a chief traffic officer of the BMTC.<br /><br /></p>
