Noida traders write to SP seeking electricity
Noida Entrepreneurs Association, a body of industrialists, on Saturday wrote to Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav requesting him to direct the Uttar Pradesh government to arrange power supply for industrial use.
The association members said that otherwise they will have no option but to shift out of the state. “We have requested Yadav to use his experience and guide the state government to arrange power from different sources if state generation plants are not generating enough power,” said Vipin Malhan, president of the association.
Noida was declared a ‘no power cut’ zone but it remains only on paper. The UP Power Corporation Ltd has also announced 16-hour power cut in industrial sectors. Apart from production loss, industrialists have to pay wages to workers without getting any work from them in the absence of power. All machines are lying non-functional, Malhan said. Several industrialists have reported cancellation of their orders due to delay in transportation and dispatch schedules. As there was no production, industrialists have become defaulters in payment of interests too.
