<p>A three-year-old girl was crying and screaming for her parents for almost an hour inside a locked car which traffic police towed away from Vikas Marg in east Delhi on Saturday afternoon, unaware of the child’s presence inside.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Seeing a red car parked outside Wali Nursing Home on the street, the tow-away vehicle took the car away to Shakarpur police station around 1 pm, police said.<br /><br />Anil Bedi and his wife Meenu Bedi, the owners of the car, who had parked their vehicle in front of a nursing home, returned to find their car and three-year-old daughter Nivedita who was inside, missing. The agitated couple began enquiring with people standing nearby in vain. Anil also called the police control room and narrated the whole incident. Seeing the panicking couple, a crowd gathered. One of the onlookers told Anil he saw a red car being towed away by the traffic police. Soon, the parents found out that the car was parked at Shakarpur police station. The couple rushed there and found their daughter screaming and crying. The police officers too rushed outside the station only to find the child safe. <br /><br />Anil Bedi, a resident of 67-B, Baldev Park in Laxmi Nagar, told police that after performing pooja at the Shiv temple in Mehrauli, the family was returning home. <br /><br />He stopped the car near Wali Nursing Home and went to buy medicines along with his wife. The parents left their sleeping daughter inside the locked car, thinking they would be back in only a few minutes. “But when I returned after a few minutes, I found the car missing. But thank god, everything is ok and my daughter is safe,” said Bedi. <br /><br />Senior traffic officials have issued a show cause notice to constable Rakesh Kumar, who gave the order to tow away the vehicle without realising that a small child was inside the car.</p>
