Aunt booked for nephew's death

Woman found dead with slit throat; two other women kill selves

In separate cases, a six-year-old boy succumbed to accidental injuries, while a 24-year-old woman was found dead in the city. In other cases, two women allegedly committed suicide in different police stations limits.

 Prajwal was riding pillion with his maternal aunt Yogeshwari on the rider’s seat on a two-wheeler on August 5, when he fell off from the same. Yogeshwari applied sudden brake and the duo fell from the vehicle at ninth cross near Vivekananda Circle.   While Prajwal suffered severe head injuries with broken skull, Yogeshwari  escaped unhurt. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed in the early hours of Wednesday.  The boy who had slipped to coma from the day didn’t regain conscious even after surgery, police sources said. Prajwal is the son of Suresh, a resident of SBM Colony, Srirampura. He was a student of first standard at Maharshi School.Kuvempunagar traffic police have booked a case of negligent riding against Yogeshwari. Murder In a bizarre incident, a 24-year-old woman was found dead with a slit throat at her house in 13th main, 20th cross at J P Nagar here on Tuesday night.Ashwini wife of Sunil Kumar and daughter of Dr Jagannathachar and Nagarajeshwari couple is the deceased. Ashwini had married Sunil Kumar a software engineer in Bangalore, two years ago.  The relationship among the couple turned sour and Ashwini returned to her parents house within six months of her marriage.  Since then she was living with her parents and had severed ties with her husband, said police sources. Interestingly, the couple had quarrelled during the initial days of marriage and a case has been registered in a police station in Bangalore.Jagannathachar who runs a clinic in Vidyaranyapuram had gone outside along with his wife and returned home in the night, only to see his daughter dead. The perpetrators have gained entry into the house through backdoor. Police suspect that the accused may have raped the victim before doing her to death.  Suicide  A woman allegedly committed suicide at her farmhouse in Yaraganahalli on the outskirts on Tuesday night. The victim has been identified as Usha wife of Nandakumar. The couple are the employees of Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens in the city, and were residing at a farm house on Krishna Temple road at Yaraganahalli. According to her husband, Usha had allegedly hung from the curtain rod.Nazarbad police are investigating. In another incident, a 20-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in south police limits on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Manjula of Harohalli on the outskirts. She was found hanging.  Acccording to her parents, Manjula has been beaten to death by her husband and in-laws for dowry. Police are investigating.
