BU PG merit list tomorrow
The process of admission to postgraduate courses in Bangalore University (BU) and its affiliated colleges is finally on, after inordinate delays.
The university has already lost face due to its inability to complete the entire admission process by the end of August as scheduled. The centralised counselling was to be concluded by August and classes were to start in the first week of September.
M C Radhakrishna, chairperson of the centralised postgraduate admission committee, however, attributed the delay to incorporation of ‘minor changes’.
As per the new timetable, the final merit list will be published on August 28 (Tuesday). Counselling will be held between August 30 and September 9. Classes for the first semester are to begin on September 10.
While the official maintained that the entire process would be completed as per the new timetable, BU Registrar (Administration), B C Mylarappa, sounded doubtful.
“At least 25 days are required to complete the counselling,” he told a press conference recently. Radhakrishna, however, said that the new timetable would be “strictly adhered to” and “there won’t be further delays”.
“The university has been holding the centralised counselling for the last four years. We have had a good experience so far and there shouldn’t be any problem,” he reiterated.
