Minor reallocation of portfolios next week

The State BJP top brass who met in Bangalore on Friday night, decided to go in for a minor reallocation of portfolios, in the Jagadish Shettar Cabinet next week.

The decision comes close on the heels of  Balachandra Jarkiholi group demanding immediate  reallocation of portfolios, appointment to boards and corporations and appointment of a new party state president.

The Jarkiholi group had decided to wait till Saturday before deciding on their next step of action.

BJP National General Secretary and party state incharge Dharmendra Pradhan who arrived in Bangalore on Friday met Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, Deputy Chief Ministers K S Eshwarappa and R Ashoka at the state party office to discuss the reallocation of portfolios.

Earlier in the day, former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda called on Pradhan.
Pradhan will be meeting former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday. Rural Development and Panchayat Raj portfolio, which is one of the two portfolios held by Eshwarappa is likely to be allotted to Minor Irrigation Minister Govinda Karjol during the reallocation.

Jarkiholi is likely to get Urban Development in addition to the Municipal Administration he holds.  Ananth Asnotikar, Appachu Rajan and Sogadu Shivanna are likely to be additional plum portfolios, sources said.

Appointments to board and corporations will be taken up in phases.
