People's Problems
Irregular water supply
Residents of 5th Cross, Sundarnagar, Gokula are deprived of regular water supply since the past six months, while the rest in the area are supplied water on alternate days.
When enquired, BWSSB Engineer said there was no pressure to pump the water and directed us to contact the assistant executive engineer. When contacted the AEE, he told as to contact lineman. Our efforts to contact them again have gone vain as they don’t receive the calls. Water supply is restored for two-three days after lodging a complaint with the BWSSB call centre and the PR Office at Cauvery Bhavan. But, later the problem recurs. We end up paying more for telephone calls made to lodge complaint than for water. Hence, we request the chairperson of the water board to intervene and resolve the issue.

Improve bus connectivity
Repeated requests to ply Volvo/Vajra buses from Konanakunte Cross/Bank Colony to ITPL (at least two buses between 9 am and 10 am in the morning hours) have not been acted upon by the authorities concerned. The facility would greatly help several software professionals who travel to IT Park daily from the area which covers Vallabhanagar, Bank Colony, Vasanthvallabhanagar, KK Cross, Sharadnagar, Biksipura, Chunchanaghatta area, Yelachenahalli etc. Presently, these techies have to travel either to Banashankari TTMC or to ISRO Layout bus stand to catch a volvo to ITPL, which is very cumbersome and time consuming.
The BMTC authorities neither can put forth the excuse that the proposal is ‘economically not viable’, since the bus fare of Vajra/Volvo is comparatively very high and there is no dearth for commuters who don't care to pay a little more for the comfort they get. We request the BMTC to consider the request and act favourably.

There are no direct city buses from Chandra Layout to Kengeri.
The residents have to travel by route number 238v to Nagarabhavi or cover the stretch by walking. The frequency of 238v buses is also very poor. I request the BMTC authorities to do the needful.

Footpaths in bad shape
The footpaths on Jeevanbima Nagar main road are badly maintained. There is hardly any place for the pedestrians to walk as the vehicles of LIG houses are parked on either side of the road.
And at whatever little space left, the slabs are either broken or protruding and one cannot even step on them. The traffic on the road is heavy and one cannot take a chance to walk on the road.
There are several open manholes and this is the situation close to the corporator’s office. Many blind children/persons walk on the footpaths when they visit Rehabilitation Centre for the Blind located in the area.
Will the authorities concerned take up the job of constructing a better footpath for the benefit of pedestrians?

Building being constructed illegally
A multistorey building being constructed illegally, adjacent to my house in ward 29, 2nd Main, Kacharakanahalli, St Thomas Town on Hennur Main Road. The building will deprive natural air and light to my residence.
I have registered a complaint with the BBMP officials, but no action is taken. The owner of the illegal construction claims that the Palike officials cannot and will not take action against him as he claims to be powerful.
Despite repeated complaints made to the Palike against the illegality, the construction work has not halted. I am a senior citizen in peaceful possession of my residential property. I am law-abiding and unable to move about freely because of my health conditions. I am unable to go to the BBMP (East) office frequently to follow up on the action.
I am now left with no option but to appeal through the media to the commissioner of the BBMP to order an inspection and take necessary action

Play equipment damaged
Play equipment at the Children’s park in 13th Cross, Indiranagar, is totally damaged. There are holes in the slides and metal sheets are torn leaving sharp edges. Children sustain injuries while playing. The BBMP should replace the damaged equipment with new ones soon.

Introduce circular bus route
The new Koramangala bus terminal has started functioning and it is high time that a circular route be introduced from Koramangala to Rajarajeshwari Arch off BEML Layout - Depot 21 as this would serve several people. The route could be: Rajarajeshwarinagar Arch - Rajarajeshwarinagar temple – BEML Layout – Uttarahalli – Banashankari – Jayadeva Hospital – Forum – St Johns Hospital – Koramangala Water Tank – Koramangala Depot and Koramangala Depot – Passport office – Viveknagar – St Philomina’s Hospital – Richmond Circle – Corporation - Mysore Circle – BHEL – Nayandahalli – Rajarajeshwari Arch. It is hoped that BMTC will study the feasibility and introduce the routes.

BDA layout sans civic amenities
The 3rd Block in HBR Layout formed by the Bangalore Development Authority is without basic infrastructure. There are neither roads nor streetlights. Water is supplied twice a week. Mosquito and stray dog menace adds to the woes. There is no transport facility to the layout formed 15 years ago. Residents have to walk for two kilometre to board a bus. Several complaints to public servants and elected representatives have fallen on deaf years. A bus stop near the HBR Layout telephone exchange would be of much help.

Unscientific humps
The Dr Rajkumar Road (opp Sri Rajarajeshwari Kalyana Mantap) signal junction located at a short distance from Rajajinagar Police Station is in a horrible state for more than six months. The humps laid up to the end of road median have been painted with zebra crossings making it impossible for pedestrians to cross the road. Eventually, people have to cross the road braving heavy traffic. This type of speed breaker-cum-pesterian crossing are there on most of the signal junctions on the entire stretch of Dr Rajkumar Road.
I request the authorities concerned to take suitable steps.
