Seminar on higher education on Sept 6
A UGC-sponsored national seminar on ‘Higher Education 2020: New Strategies for Empowerment and Growth’ will organise on September 6 and 7 at St Joseph’s College of Commerce in the City.
“Liberalisation of economy has brought several changes in the policies of higher education.
This seminar will be a platform to discuss these changes and study the impact of access to higher education,” said A M Sheela, convenor of the seminar.
Principals, teachers and research scholars will take part in the seminar. As many as 46 research papers have been screened by the college. A compilation of selected papers on the topic will be released during the seminar.
Former vice chancellor of Mangalore University M I Savadatti and Director of Institute for Social and Economic Change Deshpande will present papers at the seminar. On September 15, the college will also felicitate its alumni.
