Short-term banking courses up for grabs

The banking industry has become a major growth-oriented industry after the phenomenal expansion of branch networks. It is an important tool to facilitate the development of the Indian economy.

Public sector banks play a pivotal role as catalysts of social change. The National School of Banking is one among such institutes in the country, specialising in bank recruitment courses with a full- fledged bank examination research department. *Bank Recruitment Probationary Officer’s Course (BRPO),

These courses are offered both through in-class tuitions and through correspondence.

The course content will provide  detailed knowledge of all the aspects involved in the banking industry by covering subjects such as reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, English language grammar, vocabulary and comprehension, marketing, computers and descriptive writing.

These courses are helpful for those applying for the position of agricultural officer and other specialised roles in private and public sector banks, LIC, GIC, ECGC, and for those who plan to take the GRE, GMAT, CAT or TOEFL.

Course details

The mentioned courses will be conducted at the various centers of NSB, including New Delhi. The regular course takes about two-and-a-half months for completion while the correspondence course is administered through postal correspondence tuition.

Once candidates pass the written test, a group discussion and interview round will be conducted.

The entrance test for the RBI Grade-A course comprises three parts. The content for the first and second parts is similar to that of a probationary officer’s course. The third section will contain questions on economic and social problems. After passing the written exam, candidates will be called for an interview in Mumbai.

RBI Grade-B course also comprises three papers with a duration of three-and-a-half-hours. The first paper will test a candidate’s ability on essay writing, comprehension, precise writing and business correspondence. The second paper will cover questions on economic and social issues and the third objective type paper will test mental ability, general awareness and quantitative aptitude.
