Rajesh Gundu Rao no more

Bangalore: Sept 14, 2012 DH News Service

Rajesh Gundu Rao, son of late chief minister R Gundu Rao, breathed his last Thursday afternoon. He was hospitalised here on August 28, following brain haemorrhage. He was in the intensive care unit since his hospitalisation.

He is survived by his wife Sushma, a daughter, mother Varalakshmi and two elder brothers Dinesh Gundu Rao, Congress MLA, and Mahesh Gundu Rao.

The cremation is scheduled around noon on Friday at the family’s farmhouse at Navarathan Agrahara near Devanahalli, according to family sources.

The 41-year-old was with JD(S) till recently. Following the denial of the post of president of the JD(S) youth wing, he had disassociated himself from the party. He had acted in a Kannada movie - Hoovu Hannu - in 1993. He was planning to face the arclights once again, after a gap of two decades.

Congress leaders Siddaramaiah, S R Patil, former Congress MP Sachidananda and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa were among those who paid their last respects to Rajesh at his house in RT Nagar.
