<p>A Kannada TV actress died after she took ill on Tuesday night. Hemashree, 33, was on her way to Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, along with her husband Surendra Babu, to attend a family function.<br /> <br /></p>.<p>Babu claimed he rushed her back to Bangalore when she developed health complications. Hemashree was declared brought dead at the Baptist Hospital. <br /><br />The police have been informed and the autopsy would be conducted on Wednesday. A senior police officer denied reports that Babu was detained on suspicion of foul play. Hebbal police confirmed that no complaint had been registered. However, the officer said the couple had a strained marriage and that the women’s face bore marks of injury. <br /><br />“We are yet to establish the cause of death. Only then can we comment,” officer said.<br /><br />Child artiste<br /><br />Hemashree started as a child actress and went on to act in films like ‘Sirivantha’. She contested for the Assembly elections as a JD(S) candidate in 2008 and lost. <br />After marrying Babu, Hemashree complained to police that Babu was married before he tied the knot with her.</p>
