Olympic Games bronze medallists Saina Nehwal and Mary Kom were gifted residential flats for their achievements in London here on Wednesday.

“I thank for the love and support from the people,” said Mary after receiving the property documents from Sanjay Raj, the CEO of Commune India.

“This will be a second home to me,” said Saina, who was handed the documents by Alok Biswas, CEO of Target Games Facilities.

The three BHK flats in Chandapura-Anekal main road are worth Rs 40 lakh each.
The duo returned the favour to their well wishers with Mary presenting a pair of her boxing gloves and Saina giving a badminton racquet to be auctioned for the Save a Mother charity programme.

“We will auction it in the next 60 days,” said Sanjay.

“We are planning to build a sports complex in Sarjapur with modern facilities,” said Biswas.
“The complex will include facilities for badminton, tennis, boxing, cricket and football. Saina and Mary will be part of it in some capacity.

“We will be discussing it with the players. The work for the complex will start in three months time and we are expecting to complete it in 18 months,” said Biswas.
