Big KSCA presence in BCCI

Last Updated 12 October 2012, 16:47 IST

From Anil Kumble being appointed the chairman of the Technical Committee to Roger Binny being named a member of the National Selection Committee, the Karnataka State Cricket Association, which has eight of its Managing Committee members at various panels of the BCCI this year, never had it so good.

While Kumble, the President of the KSCA, replaced former India captain Sourav Ganguly as the head of the Technical Committee, Binny, one of KSCA’s vice-presidents, took over as South Zone representative in the selection panel after Krishnamachari Srikkanth completed his term this September.

Besides these two high-profile appointments, member Sadananda Maiya has been included in the Informational Technology Committee while KSCA treasurer Tallam Venkatesh continues in his capacity as the member of the Marketing Committee.

Others to be included are J Abhiram (member, Junior Cricket Committee), Sudhakar Rao (member, Umpires’ Committee), Narayan Raju (member, Grounds Committee) and MR Krishna (member, Museum Committee).

‘Excellent relationship’

Former international umpire AV Jayaprakash has also been retained in the umpires’ committee.

“I think this is one of the best State-wise representation cutting across all States. This only reiterates and reflects the excellent relationship that the KSCA has with the BCCI," said KSCA Secretary and former India pacer Javagal Srinath.
