Meet on international anthropology from today

Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Manipal will hold a three-day workshop on International Anthropology from October 28 to 30.

This will be the first of a series of three workshops on collaborative anthropology, which is aimed at bringing together scholars from India, North America, Russia and Africa to discuss the current understanding of anthropology and questions of ethical pluralism, systems of inequality, and their relevance to social science research methods. The other two will be held in Cape Town in 2013 and Princeton in 2014.  

The goals of the workshop are to discuss methods of engaging with human groups and to share concepts from Indian contexts with scholars from other parts of the world.

The event is supported by Princeton University and eminent anthropologists from Princeton besides scholars from Russia, South Africa and India are taking part.
