Aditya, Adoksh slam centuries

Cricket Under-16 tournament

Hundreds by Aditya Reddy (140 not out) and Adoksh Hegde (134) and a match haul of 9/85 by Santrupath Chandra helped Combined City XI hammer Tumkur Zone by an innings and 16 runs in the KSCA Under-16 inter-zonal tournament.

Batting first Tumkur could manage only 180 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 90 overs. P G Sumanth top-scored with 85. Sadyojath N S claimed four wickets for 42 runs for Combined City.

In reply, Combined City amassed 331 for three before declaring their innings. Aditya hit 16 boundaries during his 197-ball knock, while Adoksh smashed 19 fours facing 125 deliveries.

Faced with a first innings deficit of 151 runs, Tumkur were bowled out for 135 in their second innings.

Sumanth again waged a lone battle, scoring 63. Santrupath was the wrecker-in-chief, returning figures of seven for 45 to add to his first innings tally of two for 40.

Bangalore City XI: 168 all out in 62.3 overs (Sarvesh Sharma 31, Aditya Ramakrishna 46 n.o.; Abhishek Singh 2-31, S P Yashwith 3-49, Nehal D’Souza 3-32) and 191/7 in 57 overs (Tejas Gowda 38, Ankith Mishra 87; Munnavar Ali 3-49, Tasum 2-54) drew Mangalore Zone: 187 all out in 68.5 overs (Nithin M 56, Siddarama 53 n.o.; Rahul Pinto 7-61, R Bharath 2-22) and 78/4 in 23 overs (Sohit Tommar 45 n.o., Sarvesh 2-16). Mangalore: 3; Bangalore City XI: 1.

President’s XI: 342 all out in 89.2 overs (Ankit Udupa 38, Mashooq Hussain 116, Rishi Bopanna 28, A Prajwal 61, Shubham Singh 30; Abhyudaya Upadhya 2-66, H M Pooran 2-34) and 99/8 in 28 overs (Rishi Bopanna 37; C R Nikilesh 3-38, Rohan K S 3-8) drew Shimoga Zone: 234/6 in 90 overs (Nikiles G R 80, Pooran H M 100; Shubham Singh 2-35). Mysore Zone: 168 all out in 71.4 overs (Akash M 47, Vikas Chandra Guru 39, Madan Mohan 29 n.o.; Manish S 4-25, Sachin N S 4-48) and 141/5 in 52 overs (Rahul V Kaashyap 55; Vyshak Vijayakumar 2-41) drew Bangalore Zone: 280/8 in 90 overs (Jayesh Babu 46, Zafaruddin 40, Desmond A 92, Satish Vallur 40; Yodhan Hruday G S 2-55).
