'Form panel to probe corruption charges'

Last Updated 28 October 2012, 18:39 IST

Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwesha Teertha swami said that all political parties should form a fact-finding committee to probe into allegations of corruptions levelled against party leaders.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, the seer said this would enhance the credibility of the parties.

On charges by Arvind Kejriwal against BJP national president Nitin Gadkari of amassing illegal wealth, the Pejawar swami said, the BJP also should form a team to go into the details of the alleged scam and bring out the truth.

Instead of approaching the court and going for judicial inquiry, the BJP and RSS together should form a team and investigate into the matter.

“People should know the truth,” he said and added that inquiries into several charges of corruption and misappropriation by leaders of other political parties had not been taken to a logical end.

On demand for Gadkari’s resignation as president of the BJP, the seer said it was left to the BJP to decide.

On former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s prospects of quitting BJP and forming a new political outfit, the Pejawar seer said the BJP leadership should sort out the issue.
He refused to elaborate further saying he would not speak about politics.
