Abhinav, Manjunath, Negi sparkle

An unbeaten double century from Abhinav Manohar and centuries for MK Manjunath and Dikshanshu Negi helped Swastic Union Cricket Club (2) to a facile innings and 38-run win over Jaidur Cricketers in their Dell-KSCA Group I, Division II tournament for the Sri MAT Acharya Shield here.

Batting first, Jaidur Cricketers were bundled out for 253. In reply to which SUCC piled on 444 for two in 57 overs. Manohar struck 201 runs (183 balls, 19x4, 8x6), while Manjunath scored 105 (84b, 16x4, 1x6) and Negi struck an unbeaten 119 (75 balls, 16x4, 2x6).

Faced with a daunting task, Jaidur fumbled as they were struck out for a mere 153 after SUCC’s Nouthosh ran through their line up with a six-wicket haul.

In another match, Jayanagar Colts drew their match with Jolly Cricketers. Batting first, Jolly were skittled out for 321 in 68.2 overs with Nishit Raj scoring a half-century (74) and Narasimha M claiming six wickets (6-83).

In reply, Jayanagar were bowled out for 446 in 90 overs accumulating a first innings lead of 125 runs. Bipin’s 133 and Yahtish Kumar’s 95 were the highlights as they pocketed three points and Jolly went home with one point.
